Traditionally, zombies have been scary and suspenseful creatures, but in recent years a new trend has emerged: the zom-com! That's right, zombies are not just the walking dead. They're comedians! Learn how to write not only from the perspective of the zombie who has moved beyond a one-dimensional character into the realm of dreams - and endless hunger, of course! Sure, zombies love brains, but so do nerds! With analysis of C.M. Learn how to craft EVA foam armor using basic and affordable materials and tools. In this session, we'll cover using and creating patterns, cutting and shaping foam, and methods for strapping armor to your body. Participants will build their own wearable piece of armor (a gauntlet) during this hands-on session.

Everyone knows Photoshop, and more importantly how expensive it is. But have you ever heard of Fire Alpaca? What about Medibang Paint? If you're interested in starting digital art, or would just like some tips about the best free software and tools, come to this presentation to learn about the medium more artists and animators are using than ever. You don't need Photoshop to make high quality images worthy of selling or posting online- and I'm here to prove it to you.

     KPOP Random Charade Relay with KPOP Dance SA!

     Participants will form a circle and the host will have a bucket full of different KPop songs. The person

      to the left of the host will pull out a song and must dance either a keypoint of the dance or the chorus

      dance itself. If the person who pulls out fails to know or execute the dance, s/she is out. If the person

      knows it and can execute it, everyone who knows it (in the circle) will join along. Those who don't

      know it are eliminated. The person who stays till the end wins.

What's in a Name? How to Get To Know Your Characters by C.M. Bratton

Getting to know your characters often starts with a simple premise: what will you call your character? But this is often a more complicated question as you dive into where this name came from and what it means in the larger story. Character-drive plots work because the audience/reader connects with the emotions. Learn how to get started with the basics and use them to dive deep into the psychology of your characters and build a nuanced, complicated, conflicted, wounded person/monster/creature whose journey is ultimately rewarding and worth discovering.

Gaming Schedule 

 

Spaces in D&D, Werewolf, Game Demos, and the Super Smash Bros. Tournaments are given on a first come first serve basis. If you want to guarantee a time slot or session, please visit us starting at 10 am to reserve your spot! 
 

D&D sessions are for beginning players and will be using pregen character sheets. You are more than welcome to bring your own level one character to the table if you have made one at home.

Gaming Schedule - all programming in Cafeteria and Library

 

All Day  -  Game Demos 

Look for volunteers stationed around the cafeteria ready to show you how to play some of the newest and most popular tabletop games. A variety of games will be demoed in the morning and afternoon. Be sure to check out Dixit, Werewords, Superfight, Telestrations, and many more! 

                    

Open Play - All Day

Have some time between sessions? Check out a board game from Court of Gamer’s collection to enjoy with friends. Pick up an old favorite or try something new! Try out VR with the San Antonio Public Library or play a game on the open play Switch as other battle it out in the Super Smash Brothers tournament.

Super Smash Bros. Tournament begins 

Sign-up for this tournament begins at 10am when the door opens and fills up fast. Battle other students to see who comes out as the ultimate Super Smash Bros. champion of 2019. Top three winners receive a prize. Hosted by the San Antonio Public Library.

Feel free to bring your own level 1 character sheet or use one of our pregen. characters. New and experienced players are welcome. Limited to 24 players.
